Question:
Need to find a Tanita Scale in Sonoma County
My surgeon wants me to lose weight and increase my muscle mass before surgery. He told me to send him a reading off of the Tanita Scale demonstrating that I have done this. Does anyone know where I can find a Tanita Scale in Sonoma County? I know I can go to a lecture in Sacramento or Hayward and get weighed on a Tanita Scale but wonder if I can find a local resource. I found a Tanita scale at Target in San Bruno. I know they carry them in
the Bay Area. By the way I LOVE it! Very close to my doctor's digital
bariatric scale. It also measures body fat.

When I was looking for a scale I found the Tanita brand at Sears (they
didn't have any in stock at the time), Linnen's & Things and Bed, Bath
and Beyond. If you don't have either of the latter two stores in your
area, I would think that most Bed and Bath places would carry at least one
model. I originally bought one and then decided to go with the Taylor
brand from Target instead ($34.99 vs. $49.99) because the Taylor could
store 4 users information, not just one. So far, I have been quite happy
with the Taylor and it seems to be quite accurate, weight wise (compares
well to my Dr's. scale. But I did notice that when I measured my body fat
pre-op, the Tanita said I was at 55% body fat, then the Taylor (the same
week) only read 49% which was a big diffrence! In all reality, the Tanita
scale was probably more accurate on the body fat % (saying that with 0%
fat, of my weight would then be 123 pounds vs. the Taylor 140), but I kept
the Taylor because of the price and additional features...keeping in mind
the variance on the body fat readings. OH, OH, OH, I just remembered, that
Costco carries them for really cheap. I think I later saw that they
carried a four person model for like $35-40 (that usually sell for $70+).
Hope that helps some!
