I work for the post office and curently have mail handlers insurance,I know it wont pay for a tummy tuck or anything like that,is there anyone out there who would know,or have had one,which insurance would cover this that the federal employees are offered?    — kevinnbeth (posted on November 8, 2002)

I know that Blue Cross Blue Shield FPO that federal employees here in Kansas covers RNY surgery and I'm pretty sure a girl in my support group got her tummy tuck covered through them.

We have Blue Cross/Blue Shield Federal PPO and they paid for my Lap RNY. I'm not sure about the TT yet....hopefully!

I'm switching to BCBS Federal STANDARD option, even tho it costs more than the BASIC option, I'll stay on it till I've had the surgery, lost the weight, and get any possible needed TT or other. I've done EXTENSIVE research and the feedback is 100% positive on it. I haven't had any feedback on the BASIC option, so I'm not going to take any chances. Good luck!
