Question:
Anyone know anythinhg about Humana Choicecare (choicecare select)
I have decided to oursue a revision after putting all my weight back on in less than a year. 175 lbs to be exact. But I now have a different insurance company Humana Choicecare (Choicecare Select). They wouldn't approve my follow visit to the surgeon back in January 2001 but the list of co morbidities has grown. Sleep Apnea Peripheral neuropathy Feet and knee problems Shortness of breat Severe depression etc. If anyone can shed any light I would appreciate it. You can see the whole story on my page. — snicklefritz (posted on August 10, 2002)

I had Humana ChoiceCare PPO too. They approved my DS surgery in less than
24 hours (which is very good since not even all insurances will cover a
DS). I had no problems with them. Since you are a revision, you may want
to consider the DS surgery (if you are not familiar with it more
information can be found at http://www.duodenalswitch.com/ and
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/duodenalswitch/) since it has a better track
record of preventing long term weight regain than a RNY. Since you are
already in Ohio it would be worth your time to talk to Drs. Hess and Oakley
in Bowling Green and Dr. Maquire in Kettering. I think they both do
revisions but not 100% sure on that. If you want more information on the
surgery feel free to e-mail me. Stephanie
