Question:
Am I eating too much?
I am 61/2 months out and have lost about 90 lbs.I do eat healthy though. No fat or low fat, grilled or baked foods but I feel like I am eating much more. For instance,a small chicken breast, small baked potato with baked beans. Is this too much? Linda — Linda C. (posted on May 27, 2002)

Linda,
Do you feel overly full? Are you losing? As we progress, our capacity
increases somewhat. That is normal. My surgeon told me at my 10 week
check-up that I should be eating about 1000 - 1400 calories a day. I was
only eating about 500 at the most and usually less than that. I have tried
to increase my caloric intake - somedays I can, others I can't.
Maybe you should find a calorie guide and calculate how much are are eating
every day for over a span of a week. That might give you a guide. I eat a
lot of cottage cheese (because I really like it) and I have found that I
can eat more now than I could a month ago. I'm not worried about it
because I know it's fat free, high in protein and I am staying within the
caloric guidelines established by my doctor. If you are really concerned,
ask your doctor or nutritionist.
Best of luck to you.

I agree with the first poster. I use fitday.com and document what I ate
for the day. It breaks down fat, carbs, and protein. 4 weeks post op...
