Question:
Hello Everyone, I need to know if anyone has tried liquid(drop)protein?

I am currently post-op and have started incorporating protein shakes in my diet. After once being on Optifast, it is almost impossible for me to stomach any type of liquid shakes. I will be meeting with the surgeon this week and find out if I am able to take protein in a liquid drop form. Please share any experience that you may have. Thanks.    — Dee D. Dee Dee, The only liquid protien I have found is Cher-Amino, by Twin Labs, it was AWFUL!!! I threw it up the minute it hit my tongue! I took it straight, but I think you can mix it with juices and other drinks. Maybe mixed it wouldn't be so terrible, I haven't had the urge to try it again tho! Good Luck!

I too tried the Cher Amino. GROSS. Took it back and went to GNC where I bought a different liquid protein. It is made by Challenge. Wild Cherry Flavor. You mix 3 tbsp. with water. I also add a sweet n'low. I dilute it a lot. It tastes kind of like cherry koolaid. If you buy anything from GNC and keep the receipt and don't like it, as long as it has not been 30 days they will take it back. Can't lose there! Happy losing ;)

Cheramino isn't that bad to me. I take it if I'm in a hurry or don't feel like making a shake. You get used to the taste. Good luck and God Bless!

I'm with Donna on this one. I tried mixing it in Diet Dr. Pepper and I almost threw up on it. It was awful.

I know exactly where you are coming from. I too am not able to tolerate protein shakes due to "Optipuke". My solution is Amino 2222 (Fruit Punch flavor) available at GNC. I mix 1-2- sups of crystal lite (Strewberry & Kiwi flavor) with 3-6 tablespoons of Amino 2222, add a couple of ice cubes and blend briefly. Amino 2222 has 22.22 Gm of Protein in 3 tablespoons. So in 2 cups you can get 44.44 Gm of Protein and also 2 cups towards your liquid intake. I drink mine during the day at work. This is like drinking a fruit punch. You can make it to suit your particular taste. I hope this works as well for you as it does for me. My diatician suggested it to me.

I recently bought and tried Twin Labs Cherry Flavored Pre-Digested Protein. 2 tablespoons - 15 grams. I took it straight and didn't mix it with anything. Truthfully, it was sickeningly sweet and kinda thick (think cough medicine), buuuuuuuuuuut, with a sip or two of water immediately thereafter was very tolerable. It didn't make me nauseous or even have an after taste.
