Hello. I didn't research it(I had RNY) but I saw a story about it on one of
the news channels. Right now they are still testing it in several cities so
it isn't available for everyone. I don't know if I would consider it even
if it was available. I would want to wait until it has been used for years
to see the long term effects.

On the opening page of this site is a link to sign up to receive info as it
becomes available. While it is in trials in the USA, I heard on the news
that it's been in use for 2-3 years in Europe. I don't know if that's
accurate or not.

There is someone who posted on the message board yesterday that had the
surgery. I believe their profile was stomach pacemaker or something close
to that. Perhaps you can look up their profile.

My husband is in the middle of this trial right now he has had the igs for
1 year and hasn't lost much weight. He actually has to go back in on
Thursday and have a new one implanted due to the fact that A. Weight loss
is not where it should be and B> after one year the battery needs
replacing and the unit is easier to replace that the battery. When my dh
had this implanted by Dr. Shikora they actually kept him overnight in
Boston and his scar loos the same as someone who has had rny lap. However
you can feel the device under his skin. It feels like a pocketwatch there.
He is not too happy with the device and told the Dr. That if he doesn't
see any results in 6 months he wants to opt for a bypass. Dr. sd okay.
