How far out from surgery are you and what do you consider eating too much?
It really is important not to drink when you eat but sometimes a tiny sip
to wash something out of your throat won't hurt - but don't make a habit of
it. I NEVER have a drink with me when I eat - that way I'm not tempted to
take a sip. I always drank with meals and I thought it would be difficult
to break the habit but it has been relatively easy for me.

I don't drink when I eat -- I think of it this way -- one thing at a time
helps me enjoy and concentrate on what I'm doing... eating or drinking. As
to eating too much, I can't tell although I did look at your profile. I'd
cut out the snacking, no matter what it is... spread your food out to four
times a day... eat for small meals, not MORE food, but MORE often .. and
see what happens. Do you have protein drinks? I'd try putting one into
your life AS a meal if you don't. You could use it as a snack -- for me,
as a meal works. Drink more water. Whatever you're drinking now, drink
more but wait an hour after you eat something... and quite 15 to 30 minutes
before you eat. Good luck!

I'm sorry... I just reread and it says you do get your protein in. In
addition to that drink, I'd make sure each meal you have is protein heavy.
