Question:
Is it safe to take Sudafed post-op?

I know that this is a question for my surgeon but I have a head cold on a Sunday of course. I know that I have seen lists of safe medicines to take post-op and I am just wondering if Sudafed is one of them. I would love to be able to sleep tonight and breath through my nose. I don't know about the pill version, you'll want to check with your surgeon. However, I wouldn't use the liquid version. I believe there is a lot of sugar in those, like Nyquil, etc. Try Tylenol Cold and Sinus tablets until you can speak to your surgeons office.

My surgeon allows sudafed and the pills are soooooooooooooo small. My big 5 year old can swallow them with no problems (and he's a big chicken!!) Shelley

I am 10 months post op, i have alot of problems with my sinuses, Just part of the country i live in. I have been taking sudafed without any problems. You should check with your surgeon just in case though. kristi-ky
