Question:
I am 11 days post op and I am eating really really good. I eat home made
soups, cottage cheese, eggs, lentils with a teaspoon of rice, and anything else of course in moderation. Is this ok? I see alot of people only eat liquids, am I going too fast? I feel fine and I have not gotten sick at all, knock on wood! Thanks — Pilar E. (posted on June 23, 2002)

Hi! It depends on the surgeon. I was eating soups and jello on the 4th day
post op. If your surgeon says that you can eat these things I wouldn't
worry about it. Tracy - 5 months post op -88lbs

hey, i am also doing as well as you are and i am approx, 3 weeks post op
and i have been eating basically anything i can chew and chew ito the
consistancy of mush and if i cant then i spit it out bit i havent been back
for my check up because i got a bad cold and its a long trip- the thing i
am worried about is it would sometimes feel like air was stuck after i
would eat or drink and i could not make myself burp for aything and i know
we are not supposed to have carbinated drinks but i found that if i sip on
a diet coke then i can burp so oh well. each to their own , i guess my doc
will let me know- good luck just make sure your chewing chewing and chewing
until it is mush because everything inside is still healing. glad to hear

you sound great!! i am 3 weeks post-op and I was the same way you were! I
was amazed that I could hold everything down. I don't think you are going
too fast, but you should make sure to keep alot of liquids in as well, b/c
your stomach needs time to heal. But you are doing great! glad you are
feeling good! :)
