Question:
Getting bored with my food choices
Does anyone have any out of the ordinary ideas for the typical protein foods to kinda add a little somethin somethin to jazz them up a bit....I'm open to any ideas. I eat most of the high protein foods, and tolerate everything fine. I really don't have an appetite at all, so food doesn't excite me at all right now....but I would like it to. I am 10 weeks post op lap rny and down approx 55 lbs. Any ideas on single portion type receipes would be great too. Thanks everyone!!! — Nikki A. (posted on March 12, 2002)

Two of my favorties are chili and chicken quesadillas. The chili recipe I
got off of AOL "Mexican Black Bean CHili" from cooking light. I
substitute the ground beef with 1g fat ground turkey. It's delish and full
of protein. Its also good b/c you can reheat it and get like 7 meals or
more out of it. Plus the whole family loves it! The next favorite of mine
is chicken quesadillas. In a pan (srayed with Pam) I saute 1.5 lb chicken
and a bunch of onions. I then add some mushrooms. After that I lay if on
a tortilla (Mission makes low fat ones). I sprinkle some Cabot 75% FF
cheddar cheese, put another shell on top and bake until crispy. Yummy!!!
You probably wont be able to eat more than 1/2 at this point (probably 1/4)
but you can put it back in the oven to reheat at another meal. These two
meals are especially great for those with families because everyone loves
them.

Tyson just came out with a new product that is like Chicken Jerky. It is
VERY GOOD. For one oz serving you get 15grams of protein!
