Question:
I can't stand Cottage Cheese
Any way I can do the test with anything else? UGH just looking at Cottage Cheese now ( and I am preop) makes me hurl. — Diane Rhoads (posted on January 28, 2002)

I've found, as have many others at this site, that I now like foods I have
previously hated and vice versa. In my case, it was chili and refried
beans...I never liked those things before. Maybe you'll luck out and
cottage cheese will taste pretty good to you. It was my experience that
after having no food for 4 days in the hospital and liquids for a few more,
that EVERYTHING looked pretty darn good! Good luck!

I know that your tastes change after this surgery, but, I am 17 months post
op and I am still grossed out by cottage cheese. I think it is a texture
thing with me. I just don't eat it.

I noticed that you chose the topic 'cottage cheese TEST'. Are you worried
that you will have to do this test? There aren't many doctors that do the
test so you probably don't have to worry about it. You may possibly like
cottage cheese as a post-op, like the previous poster stated, because your
tastes will differ than from that of a pre-op. If you still don't like it,
just don't eat it.

So don't eat it! (lol) The famous "Cottage Cheese Test" is NOT
a medical procedure....your doctor will never even mention it. It's
a little self-administered test that some people do to judge how much
food their pouches can hold. The vast majority of us never bother with
it. You are safe....you don't have eat the stuff. I can relate! I hate
it
too.
