This is an individual thing. I personally don't like hot wings, but I can
eat any kind of chicken. however, if it's dry, like sometimes white meat
is, it's pretty tough going down. If they're moist and you chew good, I
think you should be able to eat them real soon. try a small bite and see
how you react. This is how I tried foods after
WLS.

Yes you will. Just like the last post said your taste buds change. You may
not want any for a while. But eventually you will be able to eat them.

I LOVE hot wings, but since surgery they've been a little too much for me.
I was able to eat a couple once, but that's it. But, everyone's different,
so your stomach may handle it ... Good luck on your journey :)

I tried some hot wings about 7-8 weeks ofter RNY and they were fine and
didn't bother me a bit. 2-3 are all it took to fill me up, but they have
been a regular meal since then. Make sure to get ones that are not high in
sugar, read the label as some are just spicey and others are very sugary.
Hot & spicy foods haven't bothered me at all, but some people don't
tolerate them post-op.

Well, I would definitely wait a few months on it. Spicy food can be very
irritating at first.

Since my surgery I crave spicy foods more than ever, yet I can't tolerat
extremely hot (but I could'nt pre op ether). But spicy food really tastes
good now. However like someone else said, "wait awhile". I think
they said 6 months? Spicy is one thing, but HOT is another. I
"think" that kind of thing "may" hurt your pouch
whether it is healed or not. Be sure to ask your surgeon before you try
something so hot!

I'm almost 7 weeks post op and have eaten KFC's hot wings several times
lately. I bought a 6 peice for about 2.50 and can eat only one at a time,
and that is fine with me. Chew very well (to mush). I had about one per
day. They are very good and don't bother me a bit. But remember when you
are eating hot/spicy foods, you can't drink the water to quench your mouth
and throat like you used to pre op. You just won't have room and you'll
end up making yourself sick.

Hot wings are one of my favorite foods. The drummies are harder to handle
than the other part of the wing. However I can eat 5-6 now if I eat nothing
but the wings. I am 13 months post op.

I LOVE spicy food - even more so since the surgery. I am about 7 weeks out
and I can eat about 2 wings. I have to be careful though because I like
them so much that my head hunger wants me to keep eating them even though
my pouch is full.
