Question:
Can anyone tell me where I can find liquid forms of calcium citrate
liquid forms of calcium citrate? Also, what do you do if you are currently taking some prescription medications that are time released and cannot be crushed or come in a liquid form? — Sharon R. (posted on July 23, 2001)

I purchased Calcium Magnesium Citrate in liquid form at a local health food
store (Country Health in Wilm,DE). The brand name is LifeTime and it's in a
16oz bottle. Once opened it needs to be refrigerated. It has 32 day supply
and cost about 8.00. I was told you should have a calcium/magnesium ratio 2
to 1. This product has that ratio, but the calcium is in the form of
citrate AND gluconate. Not sure if that's cool or not.

If you can't find the liquid calcium citrate near you, you can order it
from www.drugstore.com. Pretty much when I can't find something, I go to
them. The also have liquid B12 as well as a wide selection of protein
supplements.

I get Citrical Liquitabs from AmericaRX.com. They are big tablets that you
dissolve and drink (orange flavored). I really like to add them to
citrus-flavored Crystal Light. They add some fizz and a little kick to the
taste.

The Citracal Calcium Citrate Liquitab can also be ordered through just
about any pharmacy. I am going to order some as soon as I get moved to
Texas. Right now I am using a calcium soft chew(like taffy). As for the
time release, could you open capsules and sprinkle over yogurt or in juice?

Do you have a health food store or a co-op store nearby? I didn't even
think about this option but when I went into our local food co-op, they had
liquid calcium, and it seemed like hundreds of other vitamins in all forms.
Of course there were lots of sugar-free, fat-free vitamins too there.

I am using Calcium Citrate in wafer form. It is like eating a sweet tart.
I eat six of them a day. I order them through the twinlab web site.

I take a calcium citrate (correctly proportioned with mag & D) in a
capsule. I can open & dump into a drink or swallow the cap whole,
whichever I prefer. Cheap 'n easy. Some meds are available in regular
form, if you ask. Also, if you can find out where in the gut the TR meds
are broken down, that might help determine if you need to increase or
decrease the dose. Of course, the doc will do the change, but you can ask
the questions. The pharmacists run when they see me coming, I assure you!
