Question:
Has anyone Taken Neurotein and effxor caps post op

I currently take Neurotein (300mg) 3/day 3xs and Effexor Caps (75mg)2 2x/day. My psych dr checked with the rug companies and said they shouldn't be a problem. I can open them and mix with applesauce. My other meds Burspar,and seaquel I can crush. Has anyone ever had a problem with caps? Thanks!    — Bernice C. (posted on May 29, 2001)

I've been taking effexor XR capsules since pre-op. Don't try to swallow these post-op, since they're too big to get through the stoma and they don't dissolve w/o stomach acid (which you won't have). I put the granules in applesauce, just as the companies suggested to your doc. You may see some granules in your stool the first day or two, but most of them will be absorbed. You should do fine.

I've been using sugar free jelly. I like it better than applesauce, but then I'm only 5 days post op. If I didn't have my Effexor and Neurontin and Oxycontin for my fibromyalgia I would not consider the surgery. I hope to be able to get rid of all of it -- but time will tell.
