Question:
Sex after a tummy tuck

I am scheduled to have a tummy tuck on November 12th and looked in the library for this but couldn't find anything. so, out of pure curiousity...how long is it that I should wait before I should even be thinking about sex again after the surgery? My finace thinks it will be along the lines of a couple of months. YIKES!! So, any ideas? Thanks!!    — Christie N. (posted on October 1, 2003)

My doctor advised me to wait 6 weeks. Of course I tried but was ok after 3 but took it very slow! Email me if you have anymore questions. [email protected]

I was six, but only because I have compications - my incision came apart and won't heal! Even so, it was way too long, so we did it anyway! Don't tell my doctor....

My doctor said 6 weeks. I did it at 5 and I had some pain plus I was scared I was going to rip stiches out!!

I am on a 5 lb. lifting restriction for 6-8 weeks.....My written post-TT instructions say for intercourse to wait 2-3 weeks, or when YOU feel like it....YIKES! I'm 5 weeks post-op and not ready yet! I'm not in pain or anything, but just afraid I will damage something. I'd say if you are going to try it before 6-8 weeks, just be sure to cut out the aerobic part of it! Good luck!
