Question:
Does anyone else notice that on some days you can eat more than others?
I'm three months out and on some days I can eat double the amount as others. Is this normal? For example, for a meal I could eat one egg roll and be full and satified. Then on another day, it could take me two egg rolls to feel full. Has any one else experienced this? Thanks! — DD R. (posted on July 28, 2003)

I'm six months out and still have that problem (although I'm still not
allowed to eat egg rolls...) I find that my appetite as well as the amount
that I can comfortably hold varies significantly from day to day, even meal
to meal. Also, first thing in the morning I can barely handle a few sips of
water till my pouch "wakes up". Fron everything I've read, this
is completely normal.

I'm four months out and recently noticed the same thing about myself. I
track my food on fitday.com, and in looking at the graphs in the reports,
noticed that some days I ate very few calories (as few as 466), and other
days I ate a lot of calories (as many as 1100). I average 744 a day. When
I saw my dietitian last week, I asked her about it. She said it's
perfectly normal, and not to worry. My average calorie intake is still
low, and as long as I keep it under 1200 calories a day, I shouldn't worry
about how much I eat. On those low-calorie days, I just need to be sure to
get in 60 grams of protein. Otherwise, don't sweat it. Apparently,
"normal" people do this all the time!

If you think about it, you likely did this pre-op too. There were days I
ate from morning to dark and others I only ate a smallish dinner. Now I
find some mornings I'm starving and can eat a large breakfast (two eggs on
one slice of wheat toast) and others I can only eat a few pieces of cheese.
Just depends.

I am at 9 months out and have hte exact same issues. I just try when I am
having a bottomless pit day to limit my eating to every 3 hours and drink
tons of liquids to help fill my greedy pouch,.
