Question:
Are there any alternatives to plastic surgery?
I have read alot about excess skin and tummy tucks etc... I was wondering is there are those whose skin just sorta shrank as they lost weight. I have has 2 babies and no stretch marks...possible I won't have that hanging skin stuff? Also...anyone have any suggestions for creams or remedies to use as you lose to firm the skin up??? — [Anonymous] (posted on January 27, 2001)

I had Open RNY on 4/4/2000 and I have lost 115 pounds since and have 20
pounds left until goal. As of today I have been very lucky with my stomach
reducing along with my weight loss. I will be 50 in May and I was sure
that I would have alot of problems with my tummy and buttocks, but have
not, and do not need a tummy tuck. I use cocoa butter everyday I also used
this when I was pregant, I also use mother's friend it a pregancy lotion.
I do have a little problem in my neck but as it starts to looking better,
I'll lose more weight and the wrinkled neck starts over again, but, I feel
that it will go away relatively soon after I reach goal and my weight
stablizes a little. I hope that within a year of losing all my weight
everything will get back to normal. You did not say your age, but the
younger you are the better the chances for your skin having the elasticity
that it need to return to normal.
