Question:
abdominal reconstruction by component was it covered by insurance..any details needed

gastro surgeon will not remove mesh by any other method due to extensive infections from mesh. no in network plastic surgeon works out of hosp dr does and will need to go out of network but plastic surg. wants money up front,9000 ouch!    — Louise W. (posted on July 8, 2005)

Hi. I'm sorry you've had such a ahrd time with the mesh. This is not an uncommon issue and it all needs to come out. I try and never put it in in the first place. The muscle "component" surgery you are indicating is the proper procedure, along with mesh removal. It should totally be covered by insurance. Even an out-of-network PS will be reimbursed for this procedure.
