Hillcrest in Waco, TX is now doing Lap RNY surgery. I'm a occupational therapy assist student @ the hospital doing my level 2 field work and hope to get a job there working with the bariatric program because I too had a RNY 17 months ago and feel that I can offer a lot to patients as a COTA. I went to the inservice for the program that everyone in the hospital went to and I was so impressed with the training on how to treat patients that are MO. It was so sensitive. The theme was " walk a mile in my shoes and you will then know how I feel" it was awesome to see just how much they care about there new program and the patient that it will bring.I can't wait to meet the patient there and tell them there life and health are nerve going to be the same after this surgery :) Lori Martin-Evans, OTAS    — levans (posted on August 8, 2004)

I am glad to read about your training at the that hospital. It would benice if everyone in the world had sensitivity training like that. Thanks for sharing.
