Hey there, I am six months post op and I can eat more than I did at the
beginning which is normal. Looking at your food, it is not that unusual
you can eat that. Taco supreme (aside from the tortilla) is ground beef,
lettuce etc. Ground beef is ground and then you grind it up some more so
smaller, easier into pouch than say chicken breast. Same goes for the
burger. Chicken salad, lots of watery veggies and water goes through your
pouch easily. My doc says that if I keep my fat low and sugar down I will
be okay. I stay away from refined carbs like flour tortillas and
substitute with a high protien one or multigrain. Hang in there. Track
your food on fitday.com. If you start to plateau or gain, you will have a
food diary in front of you and you can evaluate and change as needed.

hi,
i am also 6 months post op and i can eat(ocasionally) a whole taco from
taco bell.. i'm not sure how big the hamburger patty is at in and out,but i
can do a small one, minus the bun as well.some days i can eat more than
other days.. i used to get worried too,but then i talked with my dr. he
says as long as it isn't constantly eating a large amount that our stomachs
will shrink back down a little while after you've eaten.. moderation is the
key..
but 90 lbs. is something to be very proud of..and remember,we are ging to
slow down now, because the "honeymoon" period is over.. i went on
a plateau last month, and it drove me crazy..lol..i was stuck at an 88 lb
loss for 3 weeks. i upped my protein to include homecooked pinto beans, as
well as other protein favorites, and i make sure to get in 64 oz of fluids
daily.i also exercise4-5 days per week.. the weight has started to come off
again.. i am now down 98 lbs.. i wish you the very best.take care.

This may sound crazy but I still can't eat more than 1/3 to 1/2 cup of most
things...unless it's like soup or something. We went to taco bell just the
other day and I was able to eat about 1/4 of a chicken quesidilla (sp?)
with the outer 1" of plain tortilla removed and a about 2 or 3 bites
of a steak soft taco and I was miserable! I've always tended to be a
little on the low side for food consumption though. At my six month check
up the nurse said that they like to see people eating between one and one
and a half cups by a year out. I wouldn't worry too much, but being that
your on a plateau I would maybe cut back on the carbs and also stop eating
when you are satisfied, not full - and see if that helps. Good luck!

WOW looks like Taco Bell is popular around here ;-)
At 6 months I was eating about 2-3 oz of protein 3 x a day and a small
amount of salad or non-starchy veggies with lunch and dinner and maybe a
little bit of fruit on occasion (I plateued with too much fruit at one
point).
I was also able to drink a lot of water between meals.
Hope this helps,
Diane

I was 6 months PO last Sunday. I can be satisfied on anything from 3oz of
albacore white tuna to 6-7 oz of boiled shrimp. I tend not to eat much
else than protein with my meals other than I do get carbs from ketchup when
I eat shrimp, which is quite often. I typically can eat 1/3 of a 1/2 lb
before cooking cheeseburger with mushrooms and onions. So about 2-1/2
ounces. But then I also get some cheese and the veggies for a total of
about 4 oz. Things like burgers really fill me up and sit quite heavy.
The softer, shredded or chopped something is the more I can eat of it,
which technically isn't good. I do pretty well with limiting my quantity
except when it comes to shrimp. They just go down so easy. I know I eat
way past satisfied with them, but rarely to the point of stuffed. I'm just
not too successful at taking less shrimp and being mentally satisfied.
This is really the only food I am struggling with. Maybe when I see my 6
month labs next Friday I may find my cholesterol has gone way high from the
shrimp and that will solve the overeating of shrimp. Most meals are 4-5
oz. for 3 meals a day. I do sometimes eat a snack at night but try to have
protein or fruit. It's not a whole meal though. Unfortunately this is
more habit than need.
