It may not be a phase; personally I would have your doctor order you an
upper GI test.... its possible; if you had a 'regular' RNY vs a 'fobi' rny
to have a large stoma. This problem becomes evident very early on... and
is a 'complication' that can arise in apx. 25% of RNY tho its NOT told...
See if you have pouch function; I noticed this problem from day one; it
wasnt until 6 months post my doctor ordered the test. which was positive
for no pouch function. IF, and only IF this is your 'problem' - you will
still continue to loose weight thru the malabsorption part of your RNY BUT
you will need to 'diet' in order to maintain and to place physical limits
on your food; because your body will NOT do it for you.

Twenty-five percent?! I've heard of the enlarged stoma problem, but geez,
that figure sounds awfully high to me (almost as common as a hernia???).
Still, it can't hurt to sit down with the doc, with detailed information on
exactly what the poster is eating and drinking, to decide if an upper GI is
warranted. You sure don't want to beat yourself up for being a failure, or
go around feeling hungry all the time, if the problem is really a surgical
complication. On the other hand, 55 pounds gone in three months is pretty
darned good -- that fact, by itself, doesn't seem to suggest a surgical
failure. A question for the doc, I guess!
