Question:
I'm on the pureed stage how soon after I eat can I drink?
Is it true you have to wait for 45 minutes, I read on here that it was only 20, some clarification would be helpful...Thanks — TotallyTori (posted on March 25, 2003)

my surgeon requires between 1&2 hours wait after eating, if i have
something that *sticks* to my throat or the roof of my mouth(like boiled
eggs) i have just a few very small sips to wash it down and then wait for
at least1 hour before i have a good drink again..hope this helps...best of
luck on you're new journey

4 weeks postop open RNY, my doctor says do not drink 1/2 hour before and
1/2 hour after you eat. Good luck.

Victoria- you're right, you will hear all different answers to this
question. My surgeon and nutritionist have said to wait 30minutes after
eating to drink something. I believe the "pouch rules for
dummies" that many people follow also says 30 minutes. what does your
doctor say?

I have to wait one hour and it is the hardest thing I have to do.

My doctor said no water or drink 30 min before or after. I have forgotton
and drank to soon and ended up very sick. It will hurt if you drink right
after you eat. Its also a good habit to get into so as not to stretch out
your stomach. Good Luck
