Question:
Pregnancy Post Plastic Surgery
First I apologize...my mind has way too much time to wonder. But I'm 25, single but hope to someday have children (with a husband). I read in some answers that people should have their kids before having a tummy tuck so as not to ruin it. But first off...I already have a huge apron and I haven't even had my WLS. Second, I realize PS probably isn't even going to happen for me for at least 2 years and I think the whole PS process (multiple procdures) will take at least a year or two. I mean hopefully I would meet someone on my way down but still I can see me not having kids until I'm in my 30's. Anyone out there had a baby after having a tummy tuck, etc.? Did everything work out o.k.? I guess of thinking more about the baby not having enough room rather than it hurting any PS I would have done. I know Carnie Wilson has mentioned she wants to have kids. — Sarahlicious (posted on March 7, 2003)

I'm also 25 post op now and down over 170lbs. I had the same comcernes as
you. The plastic surgeon I spoke to said for optimal results obviously
after pregnancy would be best, but if you have rashes back aches and the
like have the ps first but wait a year or so before trying to get pregnant.

WELL, I HAD PS ABOUT 6 WEEKS AGO AND I'M SO GLAD I HAD IT DONE! I ASK MY
SURGEON ABOUT THIS AND HE TOLD ME THAT MY SKIN WOULD RESPOND THE SAME AS
ANY WOMAN WITH HER FIRST PREGNANCY. I COULDNT IMAGINE CARRYING AROUND ALL
OF THE EXTRA SKIN AND A BABY!!!I'M PLANNING ON WAITING ABOUT 9 MONTHS TO A
YEAR BEFORE TRYING.I WILL BE 32 WHEN I TRY FOR MY FIRST.
