Question:
Anyone with Lupus have medication issues?
I have Lupus, Sjogren's, hypothyroaid, and FMS, I am considering WLS. My concern is that I take numerous pills. It is of course my hope that after surgery the Lupus will go in to remission - Will I still be able to take all of those medications? If anyone has a similar situation I'd love to know what your doctor has done. Of course I'll ask mine when the time comes - but in the mean time - I'll ask all of you! My mom has all of that! Wow, I didn't think I would ever hear of anyone
else ever having all of that. She has lost a lot of weight. She didn't have
WLS, so I've always assumed it was all of the pills she takes, but she also
takes a lot of hollistic medicine, vitamins and herbs. Anyway, since she
has lost all of her weight she went from like 20-22 to 8/10, she has been
taken off a lot of her medications. One that she mentioned was
prednitazone(?). She was on so many, it's hard for me to remember them all.
I don't know if this helps any, but it seems that since she lost the weight
her doctor took her off of several meds. She is totally against me having
WLS. I'm still trying to get approved. Wishing us all luck -Autumn

Hi, I had my first consult AND my visit with my PCP which both know of all
the pills I have to take. The Anti-inflammatory, muscle relaxers, etc. I
did not think to ask them about after the surgery which they both said I
could have, that is a good question. I will check with them on Monday but
feel they would have said something to me if I would not be able to take
them anymore. Will let you know what I find out, please let me know if you
find anything out first.
