Question:
What am I doing wrong?!?!?
I am 2 months post RNY tomorrow. I have lost 38 pounds but for the past 2 weeks I have gained 3 back! I am measuring my food to keep track of my intake and I am getting on average 500 calories per day. I am not getting many carbs at all. I am trying to drink water but I can only get in around 32 to 40 ounces per day. I am getting discouraged and could use some help. Thanks in advance to all and God bless. — Mary A. You should be eating 800 calories a day. Your body thinks it's starving
with only 500. Try to get exercise in too.

Hi.. Don't be discouraged! I agree you need more calories but make them
good ones. Push protein foods first. I used to be a meat and potatoes gal
but I have potatoes maybe once every 2 wks now. But I do push the vegees
and fruits too. Are you drinking protein. If not, do so. Let me tell you
I have fooled around with so many different disgusting ones but found two I
like: Vitalady tuned me into ProScore 100 - I use the chocolate w/ 6 oz of
lowfat milk and l T. of sugar free/fat free hot fudge and about l/2-3/4 c
of ice in a blender. It is my breakfast and really is good. I also use
Extreme Pure Pro (new orange cream flavor)and put l/2 with l/2 mixed
Crystal lite orange/strawberry/banana and ice. Every time I am drinking
through the day I do that and also get in about 40-50 oz of water. You're
at a point now you could also beef up your exercise. Exercise for me is
really tough as I have two bad knees for which I'm now getting Synvisc
injections so I try to get it in as many ways as I can. Watch subtle
calories and subtle carbs which you'll find in prepared foods. I'm 3.5
months post op and down 63# and feeling great. My best to you.

Up the water, up the food, destroy the scale.
