Question:
I have soy milk and soy based smoothie milk, which I thought would be good post-op
to mix my protein power in, but I noticed that there is 13grams of sugar in the milk, and 33grams of sugar in the smoothies. Are you able to have ANY sugars post-op? Are these products ok to use??? Please let me know if I can use them! Thanks. — januaryrn (posted on July 10, 2002)

I'm not sure about the protucts you are using, but naturally occuring
sugar(like in milk and fresh fruit) is OK for us post-op. Sometimes with
soy milk there is added surgar to help the taste. Look at the ingredients
and see what is listed as the first 5 or so things..

I personally cannot tolerate natural sugars from dairy and fruit
products..I get nausea, sleepy tired, feel sluggish and develop severe
diarrhea within 30 minutes of eating fruit or dairy. So be careful, use
moderation.
