According to fitday.com, an approximately 10 oz gyro has 630 calories, 15 g
fat, 45 g protein, and 77 g carbs. I had one a couple weeks ago and ate two
meals without finishing the thing. They are HUGE!

OH YUM! The gyro ("year-o")! One of my favorites. You think I
could tolerate at least some of it at 7 months post op? I really miss
them.

Gyros are a bad idea unless you are several months along... the meat is so
solid and fairly dry... way too many carbs... I would advise against it. I
can just feel it coming back up. Well maybe just a bite...lol! They sure
were good back in the old days.

I have had one. Of course I don't eat the pita - I have a little
bite...and I get the sauce on the side, so I can dip instead of having it
slathered all over...but the place where I have gotten mine (miami subs) is
usually moist. :) YUMMY!
