Question:
Does anyone know a good surgen in the central Nebraska area?

Hello my name is kerri I live in South centeral nebraska and have been researching on line about having surgery i am 5'7 391 pounds and am tired of living like this I am only 30 years old I have always had trouble with my weight everyone in my family is large but, I am tired of this. I am on disability due to a back injury and this make's it worse I already have problems with arthritis in my lower back and hip's . Also i was wondering that i have seen that alot of people that have this surgry have had to have other surgry's after the initial surgry can anyone tell me if medicaid and medicare covered those as well.? If you don't find a doctor near you by looking at the Find a Doc page, go to Find Peers. Then look at people in Nebraska who live close to you and see who did their surgery. Not all doctors put a profile on this site, but if anyone has used a doctor and posted it to their page, it will show up there. If you need to have other surgery after WLS, like for excess skin removal, it usually has to be medically necessary for any insurance to pay. That includes Medicaid and Medicare.

How close are you to Junction City, KS? (It's in northeastern Kansas.) There are two surgeons at the Geary Community Hospital there that do WLS. Until I found that out, I almost considered going to Tulsa or Dallas! (I haven't had the surgery yet, but this is where I'm going if my insurance approves it.)
