Try ordering your sandwiches on toast. It doesn't ball up as bad as bread.

I often eat a half sandwich for a meal. Banana sand, PB sand, grilled cheese, ham & cheese, yummy. I started them about 6 weeks so you are at a good place to start trying. I would first try it at home, to see how well you do, just in case it does get stuck. You don't want to be out and that happen. Just take small bites and chew well! Bon Apetite'!!

I agree with toasting the bread. I have also found that, for me, whole grain breads are more tolerable than the white type. Good luck!

I used to live on sandwiches. I would go through a jar of Mayo every 2 weeks. They were just the easiest thing to make rather than a full meal. Now I cannot eat them at all. I have tried toasted breads of all kinds with cheese. I start out eating it ok, and then about 1/3 of the way through a half of the sandwich I have to tear off the toast, and finish the cheese out of the middle. I say do not push the bread/toast issue right away. those little cafe's usually have a couple of soups you could choose from, or my favorite is Tomato slices with Cottage cheese on top sprinkled with Hot sauce. YUMMY! That is what I get if I go out with my family to a cafe type restaraunt. If I go to a Applebees, or Chili's type place I go for Fish, as long as it is not deep fried!, or soup.

I am a vegaterian too. I am 4 weeks today and I have tried peanutbutter on rye bread and also cheese and have not had any problems. Some time I can't eat all the bread because it fills me up. Good luck you'll enjoy it.

At 8 weeks, I was eating 1/4 sandwich. I'm wondering if the volume might be making you feel miserable. It might help to take a bite, put it down, talk, visit with the kids, (wait), then another bite, same thing, be animated, busy, put it down. Then another bite, wait. Could be you're filling up before your brain thinks you are & overstuffing. At 7 years, I can only eat part of a HALF of a yummy deli-sandwich. So, the bread might work, if the volume is way small. And slow. Slow enough for your brain to register the sensation.

Nothing will make me throw up faster than eating bread! I do eat bread but I have to chew it fine, wait awhile between bites and not eat much of it. Do be careful with bread products. They can be very painful to eat sometimes.
