Question:
Getting lab work done, do you ask the to check all vitamins level?

When I go to the doctor, I'm not should what to ask the doctor to check. Could he check vitamins and minerals levels at one time alone with whatever else I need? 3 weeks post-op trying to do all I can to get in fluids, etc., not easy. I was told by the nut 80grams of protein daily is enough.    — Toby2 (posted on August 11, 2008)

I was told right after surgery it may be difficult to get all my fluids in but to make sure I get all my protein . With most of the supplements you mix it would be about 16 fl oz. plus then the extra fluids like tean etc

Your surgeon should have given you a list of what labs to check. It's the same for every follow up. If you don't have it, call your surgeon's office to get the list or a copy. It's quite a list. Laura

I was told that 60-70 grams of protein is enough. Every dr. is different. And yes you build up to that and your intake of fluids. good luck

I had the lapband done 8-4-08 and asked just how they come up with the number of grams of proteins that they want a person to have (as I noticed that some had to have less/more than I did). They come up with that number based on your height and ideal body weight--at least that's what I was told. It makes sense to me though! So, hopefully the doctors aren't giving a blanket #.
