Question:
Pre-mixing protein drinks

I was always told to drink your protein drink right away. I believe it
loses it's potency. But maybe you can call the manufacturer and ask.
Good luck!

Generally the drinks do NOT lose the protein value that quickly. The
bigger concern over a time period of 5 days is the possibility that
bacteria could grow. Because a recipe you make is "handled"
more than say, milk in a jug from the store, the risk is a bit higher.
It would be very important to be sure your fridge holds things
*consistently* below 40 degrees F.
It might be safer to only do one-to-two days at a time. That is what we
recommend to our customers.
Kind regards
Jerome

My nutritionist told me that after you mix your protien drink,it should be
consumed within 24 hours, because it will loss potency.

I don't know about potency, but it sures does look wierd after 24 hours.
It seems to separate, change color, and even taste different. Since my
"test", I've alway mixed it fresh every time.

I was always told to drink any protein drink you mix yourself within an
hour or so of making it. Premixed drinks can be take awhile to consume.

First off, EW! Who would want it??? Secondly, this is a fast way for you to
lose interest "because it tastes awful" excuse. HELLO, you can
mix up a batch for a day if you have to but for a week??? gimmee a
break....yikes! lol

At our last lap-band support meeting this same question came up. Our NUT
said that Ungury protein only last mixed for 48 hours. She said that she
checked with the company and they told her this. I would suggest that you
call the makers of the brand that you use and ask them the question about
how long their protein powder will stay potent after it is mixed. Good
luck and God bless.

I always consume my drink within 30 minutes. That is what the mfrs have
recommended, due to the bacteria issue, as well as loss of a smidge of
potency. Why take a chance? Maybe you could make up your formula for TWO
days, and then add the protein powder to your serving as you need it?
Making anything up for 5 days makes me kinda nervous. Even resealed, it's
not the same as it was before it was open on your counter, while being
assembled, KWIM?
