Question:
nausea/vomitting
I am 4 weeks post-op and am having trouble with nausea/vomitting. Only after 2 bites of something I will sometimes need to vomit. Occasionally this happens even after drinking fluids. Anyone else with this experience? Suggestions/words of wisdom? — deannadyall (posted on April 13, 2007)

At four weeks out with symtoms like yours, my Dr. did an endoscopy, I had a
stricture. I'm not six months out with no further problems. Connie

Call your Dr.! It could mean that you are not open enough. It is easy to
correct but you need to get in and have it taken care of.

Definitely could be a stricture! You need to take immediate action!

Deanna: First piece of advice, if you cannot keep anything down more than
two bites, you need to see your surgeon right away. This is not normal.
If it only happens on occasion, you may be occasionally going too fast and
it hits your pouch too much too soon, and comes back up? Either way,
please see your surgeon right away. It could be stricture as well that is
causing it. If it is not stricture or another cause, than just be patient
with it, and take one small bite or sip, wait for a time then repeat.
Sometimes we have to train ourselves to eat again after this big surgery,
it needs our patience. Take care. Patricia P.
