Congratulation! You are taking the right foot steps as a pre-op to begin
your journey. You cleaned your fridge and your freezer wow I am so
impressed. I know you are 100% ready and I am sure you will be a long term
success in keeping your weight loss. Do your know why? Because you have
the right action and the proper attitude toward going into the surgery.
This is my opinion. What I am reading in your post it tells me you a ready
go girl! see you on the other side. Good luck in your new journey.

I too did all the same things you did although the doctor from pre-op
testing wanted me on children's chewables as soon as I left the office. I
then went for my check up three weeks later and my doctor advised to swich
to an adult chewable. I found a product called Source of Life that is a
liquid and the best and I found it in a Natural or Health Food Store. They
should carry the two week bottle which is what I tried first to see if it
was ok. Just follow the doctors orders for recovery and don't lift/strain
anything during recovery. All our emotions are fine which I had and then
when I got to the hospital on the day of surgery I was sooo calm.

Miss KP, Good luck on your journey it is an awesome one, totally worth it.
As far as vitamins go, I started out using Optisource (for bariatric
patients) then after my 5 month anniversary I was told at all my support
group meetings that they were overrated and try Flintstones so I did, plus
some other supplements . Your surgeon will advise you, it's best to listen
to him atleast until you learn about you new reworked system. Go to all the
support groups you can,I have learned a ton from them and here too!! Good
Luck, Open RNY Sept.29th -75 so far yipeeeeee Pam

Good luck and congratsulations! I am so excited for you! The biggest
advice that I can share with you is to keep a heating pad close and handy..

soothing... I am so excited for you.. this has been a hell of a ride and
the best decesion I have ever made in my whole life.. next to marrying my

OptiSource Vitamin & Mineral Supplement Chewable Tablets, Citrus
by Resource
These are the vitamins my surgeon recommended. He said the bloodwork on
his patients indicate they are absorbing what they need and he's had good
luck with it. I like them because it is complete. I haven't had to take
any other supplements ...four of these chewed daily and I am done! They
are pricey, but the convenience factor is worth it, imo.
I purchase mine online through wahlgreens.com

hey,
I agree with everyone here, the only thing that wasn't mentioned was to
make sure you take your iron with vitamin C and make sure that you don't
take it within an hour of taking calcium. Calcium citrate is the best
absorbed, I use upDcal powder, twice a day (I tried taking pills and i
couldn't swallow it, cut in half or crushed didn't matter, but that may
just be me). I also use centrum silver chewable vitamins (doesn't have
iron, I don't want a conflict...lol). I get a shot of b12 once a month at
my primary's. I also take coQ10 enzyme 50mg a day, it helps your blood
cells absorb better. My blood work has always been great. Oh and for the
first 6mths after surgery I took actigal, it is by prescription, this is to
help prevent gallstones due to rapid weight loss. It is not a garauntee
that you won't get them, but you have less of a chance of getting them. It
worked for me I lost 170+ lbs at my lowest and i didn't get gallstones. I
also drink 2 protein shakes a day, just to make sure that I am getting
enough protein (they have approx. 30gms protein per shake). Okay, I have
gabbed on long enough. Please contact me if you want to talk or need
support. I am never too far from my puter. LOL....
