Question:
Has anyone tried the "Oh Yeah" protein and bars? Are they any good?

I haven't been able to find any protein bars I like. I am 8 weeks post RNY and I will be traveling to a work conference soon. I want to have these on hand just in case I can't eat any of the provided food yet.    — Julz3170 (posted on November 11, 2009)

As with any protein bar, watch the carbs and sugars! I have yet to find one that is acceptable to me. I really watch my carb and calorie intake... maybe you don't or aren't as self-restricting as I am. I find alternatives to keep on hand that have a better protein/carb ratio.... but, that's me! :)

I always carry the Pure Protein brand. They were developed by a WLS group. I have bars tucked in my purse, in the car and at work. Use them sparingly, but they are handy just for the purpose you mentioned. Not to say easy to travel with as on the plane/airport layovers..

I eat several of the different varities of protein bars sold by BariatricWise.com. They have lots of different flavors and some that are very crispy and some that are more like a candy bar. Most have around 15 g protein, 130-160 calories. I usually eat them in place of a snack and lots of days have one in the mid morning and one mid afternoon.

They were from Vitalady.(www.vitalady.com) The can be bought on line. I have found many items of hers I really like and have no trbl with any side effects. Hope this helps.

they taste wonderful but are pretty high in carbs & sugar. to me, they're best left as an occasional treat. even then i just have 1/2 or less to avoid even the risk of dumping. bariatricchoice.com has some pretty reasonable bars, puddings, and other protein items. most taste pretty good and there are customer reviews for most of their products-- have posted some myself so i know they're legit.

OH YEAH! The wafers are sooooo good! I was soooo addicted to them I had to fight myself not to eat more than one bar a day! (After all it is a supplement...NOT A MEAL! ) But soooo good! I loved the vanilla peanutbutter wafers... I used to buy a case of them at a time at The Vitamin Shoppe...I had to lay off (Was like weight loss surgery candy to me!) ...But yes...They are great!
