Question:
Any good computer-based psychosociological ed. pre/post WLS?
I've heard of computer-based education about pre/post WLS nutrition, exercise, psychosociological issues, but, so far, haven't found any. Please send web addresses of effective programs. Thanks! — MKJ (posted on August 10, 2009)

Well, here is a good place to start. Have you explored this site
thoroughly? Also, there is www.bariatriceating.com. It is mostly a site
devoted to it's own product sales, but it also has forums and question and
answer places, in addition to weekly online support groups. There is
another site, www.sparkpeople.com, which can be waaaaay addictive. The
site is huge, and you can join any of hundreds of special interest forums,
you can set up your own homepage and blog there (you can here, too), but
you can track your nutrition, your exercise (and it also has videos of
hundreds of exercise suggestions using weight machines, balance balls,
dumbells, and resistance bands). You can track goals you set for yourself,
get reports on them, track your weight and measurements and also get
reports, get feedback and suggestions on your nutrition (some of it not
applicable to WLS patients because it is a site for general weight loss),
but it's really an all-around great site. If you look at these sites and
don't find what you're looking for, then ask your question there,
too...perhaps someone can put you in touch with a site that meets your
needs. Good luck!
