Question:
Can you take vicadin after sugery
I had feet problems before surgery and had to take vicadin at night. We are hoping that after I get the weight off I will not have this pain.I had surgery March 15-07.I have not had a fill yet so I still can swallow small pills.Tonight I cut them in half and took two, since doctore office closed.I am wondering if this will hurt my pouch. — Sandy Hanson (posted on April 9, 2007)

I had LAP/RNY and take Vicodin for my bad knee and cyst in my wrist. Check
with your surgeon always.

My doc prescribed the liquid equivalent...perhaps you might give him/her a
call? I had to change all my meds to topical, chewable or sublingual...some
had to be changed to another med,but it is something that you can talk
about with your doc. I hope that this helps. The best to you

Hi Sandy, I had the lapband done on Dec4th of 2006. I also take Vicodin
every night for bad knees and periperhal neuropathy in both of my feet from
diabetes. i have had 2 fills and I am afraid after each one about taking
the Vicdin, because it is so big. At first I cut them in half but I can
tolerate them in one piece now. This could change after another fill. Don't
forget everyone is different. If I have to cut them in half I will, but it
will be a pain because I take so many every night. Best of luck to you.

I took Lortab elixor for 2 weeks after my surgery ( nasty tasting stuff)
then switched to the tabs. I had the RNY and taking them whole caused no
problems.
I had horrible foot pain before my surgery and wore a size 9 1/2 wide. Now
that I've lost the weight, I now where a 8 1/2 medium and foot pain is not
a problem. I'm a Nurse and sometimes on my feet for more than 8 hours and
then naturally my feet will swell and ache! Anybody's feet would suffer in
this case!

I have a lot of trouble with my feet also. I have plantar facious and have
been in tremendous pain with it for about 2 years. A couple weeks ago just
on a whim I started rubbing my feet down at night with Cortizone 10. I
figured it is an anti-inflamitory and it was worth a shot. I can't believe
the difference in my feet after only a short time. It might be worth a
try.

I have been prescribed Vicadin for my PS and also this last Nov. for when I
had a deviated septum fixed. I did not feel that there was an absorbtion
problem and I received the full effect of the drug.
