I take thyroid meds, and I lost 125 lbs. Matter of fact, I decreased my meds. Go to your Dr and have him check you thyroid, you may have to get an adjustment.

Might depend on whether you are on natural (like Armour or Erfa) or synthetic. I'm on Erfa and have lost 102lbs in 6 months. And my energy level is coming back up and I'm feeling great. It's hard to find a doc to prescribe natural but it's definitely worth it for me. Synthetic kept me sick and feeling bad. I lost my thyroid to cancer so it's vital that I have a good replacement. I love Erfa.

Your thyroid medication needs will likely decrease as you lose weight, but under medication can drastically reduce your ability to lose weight. As you lose weight, and your doctor adjusts the thyroid medication, you may experience stalls. Most doctors are likely to under prescribe thyroid medication as you lose weight since over medication can be hazardous to your health. If you find that you are dropping weight too quickly, you may want to have your thyroid levels checked since rapid weight loss is often a sign of hyperthyroidism (too much thyroid hormone in the blood). IT can take months for your doctor to actually find the proper balance of medication for your weight, so you may need patience. Once you are back on track with losing weight, make sure to have your thyroid levels checked on a regular basis, since the more weight you lose, the less medication you will need. I hope this helps.
