At two weeks out you still need to be concerned with getting in your
protien. I would recommend meats. I tried that for a few days. I then
bought a mini chopper and some fat free gravy and started to blend my own
meats. Tasted much better and I just carried the baby food with me in my
bag in case I was out somewhere when it was time to eat. Which is quite
often in the begining.

I did the meats - if you add salt they aren't too bad. I live alone and
wasnt really into pureeing.

Just like the first to posts stage one works well and the meats are better
due to you will need the protein. I have also started to puree meats with
broth and that seems to be good too. Good luck.

just be careful. baby food doesn't have enough protein in it for you, and
the fruit typed baby food has way too much sugar in it. you should get some
"any whey protein" they sell it on bariatriceating.com -you can
put this unflavored protein in anything you cook and wham! instant protein.
I used it in cream of wheat& quaker oats lower sugar oatmeal after my
surgery.

mashed potatoes, and baked sweet potatoes were good for me. As for your
protein,I liked chicken salad and egg salad made with light mayo.

Get the meats, broth, and some instant mashed potato flakes. You can then
mix up to any consistancy you want. Also just regular unseetenapplesauce.
Also don't forget to get instant packs of grits, oatmeal, and cream of
wheat. I boiled veggies to and pureed in a blender, then added that to the
babyfood, potato, broth mixture. I have also gotten some Campbells chunky
soups and pureed those as well. Make sure you do get protein powders as
well though.

my fave was strained turkey, first foods. I would mix it with strained
green beans. Yummy.

I have also been told that baby food does not have enough protein/nutrients
for us, and that we should be doing everything we can to avoid it. I
pureed chicken with chicken broth, and beef with beef broth. I poached
tilapia fish with a LITTLE lemon juice and water, and mashed it up (it's
really soft fish). I poached eggs, and soft-scrambled EggBeaters (not as
much fat, but high in protein). I mashed up fat-free cottage cheese and
added 1/4 tsp of dry Hidden Valley Buttermilk Original Ranch Dressing mix
to make it taste a little better...and they told us we could have Taco Bell
refried beans (although I'm not a big refried beans-type of person). And
you can have smooth yogurt - I found that Oikos plain Greek-Style yogurt,
with a tsp of vanilla and a packet of Splenda mixed into the 6 oz container
was delicious AND very high in protein!

I would totally avoid babyfood, it's high in sugar, and very low in
protein.
