Question:
Rear end fat loss

I have read in some of the posts that they were having problems with their rear end aching due to fat loss there. Will I lose all the fat there, I mean I do have a substanial amount that I could stand to lose a lil bit. But will I still be bootylicious or is to the store to get some padded undies!!!!    — sexy red (posted on April 24, 2008)

It would be nearly impossible to predict where you'll lose your weight, and this is the first time I've heard about losing it in the butt. I think that basically most people will lose weight everywhere...with that said, we all have our fat patterns and the hard to lose places which for me have not changed with WLS.

I go to 3 support group meeting monthly, primarily attended by women. One of the common contents is that breasts get significantly smaller and saggg, and that any butt a woman had is now GONE. A plastic surgeon spoke at our group last month, and he said that he can do plastic surgery to remove skin, or improve breast appearance. One thing he said he can't do is to place butt implants, as they "float around" to use his words.

I am 5 weeks post op for Lapband surgery and I walk 45-60 minutes a day and I am losing fat in my butt but it is also turning into muscle and I can feel it the following morning when I wake up as I go to sit up on my bed the bottom part of my butt is sore and I asked my PCP and he said that the fat is toning into muscle and he said its a "good" pain.

One never can tell. I had the biggest booty in the world it would seem - gigantic. Now..my tailbone sticks out and I am pretty much constantly uncomfortable - maybe after some time it will toughen up. But sit wrong or off and it sends pain right up my body. I never though of padded undies, might try those out. I do have certain pants I wear that shape my butt into a bootylicious catagory, but only a few - most of the time, it's flat and non-existence. :) LOL

Hilarious!...that is sooo funny...gee..you have to take the good with the bad, I guess...as for me...yep, the booty is MUCH smaller...and yes, it is weird but it does ache...I have to sleep with a pillow between my knees because the padding is gone and it aches too...it is a strange phenomenon...but I have learned to live with it...actually...I hop onto my family's lap because they say my butt bone hurts their legs!...BUT...I love it because before I was smothering them with my fat...I'll take the booty loss a million times over!!! lol

Sorry to say I experienced this exact thing. I lost so much fat on my butt that it hurt to sit for any length of time. I chose to gain back some of my weight and to my dismay, regained too much and am now trying to lose it, so before you take my route, consider perhaps cushioning your chairs, car seat etc. or consider surgery (which I did not want to do). BUT, lol, everyone is different and you may not lose all the fat on your butt. It is when the tailbone is not padded that you have the discomfort. Wishing you the best....

Baby I still got back! I am about 20 pounds from my goal. My rear has always been large and lucious. It is now in proportion with the rest of my body. I do have to do exercises to keep it high, nice and round. But I definately don't need padded undies. My shape has always had junk in the trunk. My mom on the other hand is not built the same as me and when she lost her rear went flat. Neisha

I had a flat rear to begin with, so I can't help you much... but what little I had I lost. Got to get on that elliptical and build it back up =}
