Question:
waiting 1 year!!!!!

well i have posted a question about my insurance saying i will have to wait the year because of the pre-exisitng clause, is there anything i can do to get around this or will i have to wait the 1 year,,,,,, thanks for all of the support...    — cbryant (posted on December 18, 2007)

Hi...you could check into appealing the decision for them to make you wait a year. Do you have co-morbidity issues, if so, they provide additional support/reasoning for you why it is imparative for you to have this surgery. There are various websites that offer supportive information for the appeal process (not necessarily a how to guide but information that is helpful in this effort). There's a Mr. Chambers that answers many posts here, he is loaded with great information. I believe his name is Dave Chambers. Anyhow, further down the Q&A list he offers up the websites that could be helpful. I am sorry I don't have them available for you. Good luck to you, Leslie

You can appeal. I did, but the appeal took a year, so unless you can self-pay, I would just resign yourself to waiting and take comfort in knowing that you will get it then.

I hope you don't have to wait, but for the time being concentrate on making your body as healthy as you possibly can so that you surgeon has a good body to operate on. Good luck. Pat
