Melissa, Yes it is normal. As a matter of fact the morning I had surgery I
was walking the dog it is like 8:30am and I am to be at the hospital at
10:30am. I was standing there thinking, What am I doing to myself. It is
true! I thought for a minute, this is something I have wanted for years and
couldn't do. I have everything all set up and ready to go.
I took the dog back in the apt and said to my parents (because they were
the ones to take care of me afterwards) Let's go I am ready. After those
few minutes of nerves and knowing this was what I truely wanted that was
it.
Tomorrow will be 11 weeks since my surgery. I have lost 78 pounds and I
have not regretted it for one minute since surgery. I am sure you will feel
the same after all is said and done!
Good luck tomorrow and you are almost to the losing side with the rest of
us!!

Hello Melissa: It is perfectly normal to feel nervous before surgery. I
haven't had WLS yet but last February I had a hysterectomy and I was a
basket case for one month prior. It was partly because it was the first
time I had major surgery and I didn't know what to expect. When I awoke in
the recovery room, I just thanked God that I survived!! Fear of the
unknown is normal.

Hi Melissa! Relax, you're perfectly normal! I was a wreck before my
surgery, too, I made out a will, went to confession and communion, made
lists of what needed to be done if I didn't make it through. And almost a
year later, I'm here, and 200 pounds lighter! So go ahead, chew your
fingernails, but you're going to be fine! And welcome to the losing side!
Best of luck, I'll be praying for you tomorrow. Be sure to post and let us
know how it went! --Mary

It's the people who have NO fear that worry me! You're having a major
surgery, it's natural to be nervous about that.

Scared you bet... I went to the operating room and got on the table and
seen those big lights and thought maybe I shouldn't do this. The first
thimg they said I told the nurse after my surgery is I changed my mind they
said it is to late it is done. I was happy then and a yr. later and 100
lbs. thinner God it was worth it....Best of luck and welcome to the losers
side...Cindy
