In all truth, your surgeon should still be providing follow up care and
telling you just that. I will speak for myself. I eat 2 protein shakes a
day (Bariatric fusion, ice, 1/2 banana, 1/2 cup fluid from either coffee,
vitamin water zero, or light silk soy milk), 1 small meal w/ 3 oz. lean
protein and 1/2 cup steamed or roasted veg, a snack such as turkey jerky,
nuts, cottage cheese, wheat thins and laughing cow cheese, or the like.
I generally keep my calories at close to or under 800. I work out 7 days a
week. 1 week a month I go on JUST three protein shakes a day to keep my
pouch nice and tight, drop a couple of pounds, and keep my metabolism
guessing - which is important as the end gets close.
I am not a Dr., just someone on the outside of 15 months and 155 lb lost. I
am pretty much - give or take some loose skin - at my goal weight.
One more thing... I put EVERYTHING that goes into my body into an
application (for phone or Internet) called www.myfitnesspal.com. Not only
does it really help keep teak of what your eating and the nutritional value
of just about ANYTHING & EVERYTHING, but you can friend others. Want to
know EXACTLY what I am eating every day, the nutrients, what I do for
exercise, how much I'm losing, little messages I post - even ask
questions... just make an account and send a friend request to fatestana.
It is a great resource that should really be taken over by the Bariatric
community <3.
Hope I helped!

At my clinic they recommend that you consume no more than 2 ounces of foods
while you are losing your weight. Once you get to goal..you may increase
your meal size an an ounce at a time to maintain the weight you wish.. I am
2.5 yrs post op and I met goal at 10 months out..I still consume only 4
ounces and eat 4 meals and 1 snack a day..Because i choose to. It helps me
to maintain where I want to be. Hope this helps you. Congrats and Good
Luck!! Hugs n God Bless, Kim

I myself am 8 months out and I have done incredible up to about a month
ago. I slowly started adding things I shouldn't I've never been sick so
that fact and the fact my husband wants me to gain doesn't help. I was 5
pounds from my goal now I am 10. But I am getting back on track starting
today! Just stick with the plan and you will succeed!

I am fourteen months out and lost 140 lbs. I hit my goal after seven
months. I still eat five meals a day, my first meal is always a protein
powder fruit smoothie then three meals of 1 cup of food, protien and
veggies. Then my fifth meal is either egg whites scrambled or greek yogurt
with fruit and seeds. With exercise I have been able to maintain well. Keep
the carbs down low. I only eat carbs if they are whole wheat but only a
little.
