I have heard of people having the band done then revising to RNY but not
the other way around. Not sure why you would do that. Your stomach was
made smaller two years ago - can this even be done??? Doesnt make much
sense to me.

The Lap-Band is sometimes placed over the RNY pouch as a type of revision.
Go to Forums, above; pull down Surgical Forums; navigate to the Lap-Band
and Revision forums to explore what others have done. Good luck.

As far as people doing it...yes, I have read on the revision board about
people doing it, but why?? Was the RNY not a useful tool for you? I know
my surgeon does not do this. I have heard about doc doing it the other way
around, lap band first, then an RNY. Also check your insurance..make sure
they cover revisions. Good luck...make sure you research this revision.

Don't know about your insurance .... but with mine weight loss surgery is a
one time thing. Have you tried to get back in "touch" with your
pouch??? Back to basics ..... ? You may find that you still have
restriction !! Good luck!

I received the RNY Bypass in May of 2006. I lost but started to regain two
& a half years out. Thus in April 2009 we placed one of the Gastric
Bandings on top of my RNY Pouch, And I am losing again. When there's a
stall, I get another fill. Both times, the Insurance company that manages
my Medicare paid for everything. $250 co-pay for the RNY No co-pay for the
Banding.
