Question:
Does anyone have any experience with the Mercy Health Care System?
I am considering bariatric surgery with the Mercy Hospital Health care system through their center in Illinois. I am not familiar with the Mercy Hospital Health System. What is their reputation? Has anyone had bariatric surgery with them? What was their experience? Any information is welcome. Nancy G. Illinois — Nancy G. (posted on April 16, 2006)

Yes I had my surgery at the Mercy Hospital. The staff was ok, not overly
attentive but did answer the buzzer when needed. They didn't offer to give
a spong bath or change the bedding while I was there. As far as food
service forget it, they sent up trays that were not for a post bariatric
patient so I just didn't eat. I went home in 2 days.

Hi Nancy, I had my surgery through Mercy Bariatric in Harvard and had a
wonderful expierence. I had wonderful nurses and my Dr. is my hero. She
didn't miss a beat with my needs. I was pain free, fed, and went home in 2
days feeling great! I have 4 friends who also have been there and none of
us have anything bad to report, I think we have started our own fan club
for Dr. LaDonna. Everything was a breeze. If you have any more specific
questions please feel free to email me. I'm sure you would have a great
expierence too! ~SassyLu~

Nancy you can check out what the feds and patients say about this health
system on the NCQA website (National Committee for Quality Assurance -
Health Report Card Site)
By the way are they a Center of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery?
