Each doctor has a different answer to your question. At one month post op
I was allowed approximately 4 to 6 ounces of soft food per meal and told to
drink between 32 oz. of water or more. They suggested trying to each
between 40 and 60 gms. of protein per day. It is hard to follow. Take
care.

Luanne is correct...........all doctors seem to have slightly different
plans. At three weeks, I was still on full liquids but at four weeks, he
skipped the pureed stage and told me to go directly to "real"
food. I could eat about a cup of yogurt at that point but when I went to
solids, I could only eat a couple of bites. If your doctor didn't give you
any guidelines, call and ask for them. If he/she doesn't have a plan,
e-mail me and I'll send you a copy of mine.

I was told that I could ingest 1-2 oz per meal and this is considered a
meal after WLS. And 4-6 oz of water. Remember to take small bites of a
food and chew well to see if your body accepts it, always sip your water or
any liquids. You probably won't be able to ingest more than -1-3 spoons of
a soft food. I was on soft food for about 8-10 weeks, like soft scramble
eggs, strips of cheese, oatmeal, creamed soups. You don't have to worry
about calories, because you will never be able to get enough in to worry
about. Protein drinks will help you get your strenght back. There is no
measurement at this point - but 6 1-2 spoons meals a day should keep you
full or eat when you feel hungry, a sip at a time. Your mind will be
hungier then your stomach will be.
