I can send you our post-op pkg and you can maybe do a lil roadmap for yourself from that? It just sorta organizes you a little so you have a direction? Email me privately

I am 2 months post-op and I am still on soft food and told to be sure it is soft.Such as dark meat chicken and ham and things like that, so just be very sure of what you are going to try to eat make sure it is soft or it won't feel real great eating it.

HI! I am about one week behind you, and I was having a hard time with my diet as well up until I went and saw my dr. last week. He told me to take pencil eraser sized bites and chew VERY well, and it should take me about 30 minutes to eat about 1/8 of a cup of food. I know it sounds like really little things, but my 2nd week I only lost 2 lbs that week, and my third week so far, I have lost 8 so it has worked! Also, Michelle, could you please contact me if you wouldn't mind sharing your dr.s diet plan with me please? my dr. is still kind of new to the whole WLS thing, and sometimes I feel like he doesnt have enough information for me! Thanks

You can "try" to eat everything, but I doubt if you will be able to. Try sticking with soft foods, and always take a small portion as a lot of food will not agree with you, and if they do one day, the next day they might not. You have not stop losing weight, your body is in starvation mode, eat by finding a protein drink you like and mix it with a fruit that you like - this is considered a meal. Do not think of a meal as a full course dinner anymore, after WLS a meal might be 1-3 spoons of a tolerated food.

I also had this problem. I thought, "oh my god, two weeks out of surgery and I am plateauing. I must be a failure" In reality, if you measure how much you actually eat, it is impossible to gain weight. I am now three months post op and have already lost 75 pounds and have gone from a size 28 to a size 18. You are doing fine. Just keep on doing what you are doing.
