Question:
What do you use to hide the nasty taste of meds?
I am scheduled for 1/5/10 and I am trying to find my work arounds. My MD does not want me to take liquid medicines. Although I am really looking forward to most all of them disappearing. I can get nasal inhalers for the imitrex. but I tried putting my Tylenol 3 & skelan into jello and it was nasty. I am mainly looking for week 1 & 2 post op. Thank you in advance. — tlscannell (posted on December 2, 2009)

Believe it or not. I heard that daiquiri mixes work the best. They are so
concentrated that they virtually hide the taste. I am scheduled for 12/16
GOOD LUCK!!

I'm two weeks out from RNY. When released from the hospital three days
post-op my doctor gave me the generic of liquid Vicodin to take for pain
and Prilosec capsules antacid. I was able to take the Prilosec and my
personal meds by mouth as usual. So I didn't have any med tastes to
disguise. Best success.

I'm 6 weeks out and cannot swallow pills until month 2. So, I've had to
crush several blood pressure pills. The best thing I've found is SF Jello
chocolate pudding or the chocolate/vanilla. That has hidden the taste
best. Good luck with surgery!

Cool whip . This was suggested to me by a bariatric nurse and it worked for
me. The crushed neurotin was pretty bad, though not as bad as the liquid
one.
