Your surgeon or NUT should have given you instructions as to what they want
you to take. My surgeon gave me a list of which vitamins and supplements
he wants us to take (bariatric vitamins, calcium citrate with D, iron, B-12
sublingual once a week) plus specific protein shakes from a bariatric site.
If he did not, I would call him and ask him specifically so you can have
it on hand when you come in. My doctor actually had me start these things
2 weeks prior to my surgery to get stared on them. Best of luck on your
surgery! Let us know how you are doing. Wendy

My nut gave me a list of vitamins and protein drinks that I will need to
take. I ordered a lot online for cheaper. If your nut has not told you
what you will need to take, you may want to check in with them. You don't
want to have to worry about it after your surgery. By the way, my surgery
is on the same day. Good luck to you.

Childern's chewable compelete for the first two - six weeks. You should be
trying protien shakes now to see what you like. Be sure to have Pedialyte
on hand - for those days you may not get in what you need and start to feel
yucky. Only happened with me once or twice. Whey protien shakes are
better for one. Hope this helps!

Get chewable or liquid vitamins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
B12, Calcium, Multivitamins (they say to take Iron too, but a good
multivitamin will have what you need). Crushing your pills is a hassle you
don't need and the taste is something awful... CHEWABLES!!!!
As far as everything else goes, I had clear broth and jello on hand (for
the first week or so). I have found that I can't drink water very well...
so I drink K2O protein water... various flavors (I like the Tropical
Citrus) and good for you! Then you graduate to mashed potato, NATURAL
applesause and egg.
Once you get 2 months out, it's a breeze... as long as you eat RIGHT up
until then. A friend pushed her "diet" and is having lots of
problems. She eats things as she did before her surgery and the problems
are mounting. I stayed true to the "diet" and am having NO
PROBLEMS!!!!
Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You should seriously get this info from your Nutritionist. They will have
you on their plan, and that is really what you should go by for a while.

I also would call the surgeon's office, they need to be providing you with
the info that you need. Protein shakes, and vitamins, b-12, calcium
citrate are a must. My surgery is also the 13th. Lap RNY.

Best and most powerful "liquid" vitamin / mineral supplement is
VEMMA. Has 1000 IU vitamin D3. Will help with "energy" also.
