Question:
shakes
I was wondering if anyone on here has had any sugar free milkshakes? And if so, can you use sugar free syrups - flavorings? I am three weeks out from surgery. I am needing something a little thicker. Any ideas? Teresa — teresasmiles (posted on March 4, 2008)

Be careful with milk. Ever since I got my RNY I am now lactose intolerant.

I used the sugarfree syrups. I like Torani's raspberry and hazelnut. I also
put a little crushed ice in a blender when making the shake and it becomes
a little thicker. Divinci makes a sugar-free syrup too, but I like the
taste of theTorani. Good luck. I hope this helps.

You can use syrups in your protein drinks...I make mine like a shake every
time...Sometimes I use SF Torano or DaVinci SF syrups and cinnamon powder
or pumpkin spice. I use Almond and vanilla SF flavors too. Orange extract
in vanilla protein tastes like a dreamsicle! Go for it! Get creative!

I buy sugar free or no sugar added ice cream. Smuckers has hot fudge sugar
free. It don't get no thicker than that. You can add unflavored protein
powder if you want. I drink a pint of milk every day. Some people can't
but if it goes down good I use it.

I drink milk all the time (nonfat) now. Its a big source of my protien
intake. Just wanted to mention that in case you were going to be too
careful of milk after your surgery LOL Anyways, I add yogurt to my protien
shakes and that thickens them up nicely. Last night I had this:
1 yoplait light yogurt (thick and creamy vanilla)
1/4 cup frozen strawberries
2 scoops soy protien
2 tsp splenda
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 banana
splash of nonfat milk
Yummy :)

I don't use milk at all, but I have tried using sugar free syrups in my
proein shakes. My husband likes coconut (yuck, ptui!) in his choco shakes,
just choco powder + water. The only one I use is the s/f caramel SAUCE. I
use IDS vanilla cinnamon, ice, water, glorp of sauce and presto, caramel
shake. 30g protein, 0g sugar.
