This is totally unscientific, but most of my cellulite disappeared after I
had been working out regularly with weights and a trainer for several
months. I`m older (65)and very overweight, but have very little cellulite.
The weight training really tones as well as strengthens.

Really it's cause people have been telling me it will NEVER go away! I'm 21
& I've lost 112 in the past 11 months but I still have that nasty
cellulite, and some saggyness on my arms I want to get rid of it.

I have actually looked into this and spoken with my doctor about it. First
you must understand what cellulite is, it is little blobs of fat stuck
together to make little "balls" that gather in one area causing
the little holes that appear on the surface on the skin. That said, the
best way to minimize cellulite is to break them up so that the fat will
spread out more evenly. Obviously proper diet and exercise help to get rid
of fat but in order to specifically target cellulite you need to massage
the area. Using your fingertips to apply deep penetrating massage directly
to the cellulite will help to break up the fat allowing to spread out.
This same technique works to minimize scars because it loosens the damaged
skin allowing it to spread out thereby thinning out the scar. I hope this
helps and good luck on your journey!

Greetings:
My RNY was 12-30-2004. I'm 73, in line for a hip replacement, ran a WLS
support group, had a personal trainer, and know a lot more now than I did
6+ years ago. My body is loaded with cellulite, a tummy apron, and floppy
angel wings, even though when I put my clothes on, I look pretty darn good!
Dear "lady from Brazil" you gave me great encouragement today to
continue to work on the cellulite which I'll be able to commence AFTER my
hip replacement surgery (surgery date STILL NOT SET!) as well as the
incentive to do weight-training for my arms which I can do from a sitting
position.
You have a toned body because you have danced and weight-trained for 12
years; however, you just had your WLS. I pray you keep your toned body as
you slim down.
Here are a few helpful tips for you. First, can the eggs. Drop them for
at least 1 year. In my case, I couldn't handle an egg for 5 years. Now, I
can eat them. But, I found that once I could eat an egg, I commenced
eating one egg a day. I found that this tiny little egg COMPLETELY filled
me up and made it difficult for me to get any other nourishment at all.
Second, can the milk. Yes, continue with the yogurt. Milk is a no-no for
anyone who has had WLS. Why? I found through WLS doctors who really know
what they are talking about (and most don't -- they are only in this game
for the money) that drinking milk clogs the system, keeping a person from
losing weight, and makes them feel sluggish. When I was told this, I
couldn't believe it. So, I put not drinking milk to a test for 6 weeks.
Amazinging, I lost a tenuous 5 lbs. and felt so much better. I thought I
felt good before. I didn't. I dropped drinking milk like a hot potato.
Oh yes, can all the white foods as well. Forever. Period.
Now, tell us about celulite when you have lost the 100 lbs or so you want
to lose. You have a toned body right now because you have danced and
weight-trained for 12 years; but, will you be able to keep your body in
such good condition after the weight comes off?
A few places at OH where I have stuff which may be helpful to you. First,
is the positive affirmations at my personal website. Simply click on my
name. Second, go to my now defunct support group site at OH (defunct
because no one wants to come out to meetings in the Seattle area, and
because I think the Great Recession economy keeps folks with morbid and
supermorbid obese issues locked away in their homes and silent). It is
www.obesityhelp.com/group/BellevueWA. Forget the idea that you can get
your protein from regular foods. For the rest of your life, it is protein
first (from powders such as Isopure or Ungury) and anything else you chew
is to satisfy your chewing needs only. At my group site, you will learn
about the bioavailability of food. Yes, eggs are 100% bioavailable for the
body; but at 6 grams of protein, and you need a minimum of 100 grams of
protein, how many eggs a day do you need to consume? You do the math.
Once you understand the bioavailability of food, it will help you make
better choices. I'm still at 120 to 150 grams of protein daily and my
regular food choice is still only 1/4th to 1/2 cup and I'm completely
satisfied but a lousy dinner partner. Oh yes, and don't forget ALL your
supplements.
Blessings,
Christine Gibson
